Murtaza Jafari — CEO & Founder, Afghan Geeks
Murtaza Jafari (also registered under the surname Hassani in Greece) is a software engineer and social entrepreneur who founded Afghan Geeks to build secure, high-quality digital products trusted by global clients while creating pathways into technology for Afghan talent.
Arriving in Greece as a teenage refugee, Murtaza began with no English, no computer knowledge, and no clear path forward. Through resilience and the support of mentors, he learned coding from scratch, earned his certifications, and discovered the transformative power of technology.
Determined to pay it forward, he launched Afghan Geeks to bridge two worlds: professional engineering services for clients worldwide, and opportunities for Afghans—especially women—who are excluded from education and traditional careers.
Under his leadership, Afghan Geeks delivers custom websites, web applications, SEO growth, and AI solutions to global clients. At the same time, the company runs free remote training and mentorship programs, connecting top graduates to paid projects and internships.
Today, Afghan Geeks serves clients across Afghanistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, building trust with partners who value both technical excellence and measurable social impact.
